About this template
Overview
Banns is the complete civil-registration record of a superintendent registrar's district. It manages every birth, death and marriage registered within its bounds, takes notices of marriage through the statutory waiting period, verifies identity and capacity, licenses and tracks approved premises for ceremonies, issues certified copies from bound volumes, and records corrections to the register.
What you get
- Registers module: double-page spread view of bound volumes with volume number, page, entry number, register type, registrar signature, date of entry, open/closed status and running count against five-hundred-entry capacity
- Notices of marriage: both parties' age and condition, ceremony date and venue, notice date and twenty-eight-day waiting period expiry, extended periods under the referral scheme, documents marked SEEN, CERTIFIED or OUTSTANDING, caveats, and flags for WAITING PERIOD NOT EXPIRED, DOCUMENT OUTSTANDING, REFERRED and CAVEAT ENTERED
- Birth registrations: informant and qualification to inform, parental attendance, re-registration and parental-responsibility cases, late registrations with reason, all within the forty-two-day statutory period
- Death registrations: medical certificate of cause of death with three-part statement, doctor who signed it, coroner referrals with inquest reference, and burial or cremation form issued, all within the five-day period
- Ceremonies diary: office appointment book with statutory register office ceremonies and approved-premises ceremonies, registrar and deputy assigned, travel time between venues, and double-booking flags
- Approved premises records: approval number, grant and expiry dates, approved rooms and capacity, triennial renewal status, inspection findings and conditions, with flags for approvals expiring within ninety days or breached conditions
- Certified copies: entry searched, register and search fee, priority or standard service option, and dispatch deadline
- Refusal register with reason recorded
- Corrections and caveats: record corrected by marginal note rather than alteration, showing error, statutory route, required evidence, competent authority and date noted; open caveats that prevent marriage from proceeding
- Identity and capacity verification file: documents examined per party, interpreter and accreditation, capacity concerns and resolution
- Monthly fee and charge reconciliation to district account
- Strongroom custody: volume shelf reference, two-key access log, volumes signed out to Registrar General, humidity and condition inspection, and damage records
- Applicant portal: book notice appointment, see required documents, track waiting period, order certificate
The signature screen
The Registers module displays bound volumes as a true double-page spread with visible gutter and pre-printed hairline column rules: volume number, page, entry number, register type, registrar signature, date of entry, open or closed status in the strongroom, and running count against the volume's five-hundred-entry capacity. Twelve ruled lines appear on each leaf, twenty-four to the spread, countable from the drawing itself.
Who it's for
Superintendent registrars and their staff managing a register office district. Members of the public can use the applicant portal to book appointments, view required documents, track waiting periods and order certificates.
